Overview
Hard bright (HB) wire follows the same pickling, phosphating and drawing route as our PPD wire, but without an annealing step — so it keeps the strength gained in drawing and arrives as a clean, hard-drawn coil. It is the economical choice where the part is formed with moderate deformation or where the customer heat-treats after forming.
We draw HB wire on IVD machines in low and medium carbon grades and supply it in coils of the weight you specify, strapped and packed for handling by crane or forklift.

Frequently Asked
Is HB wire suitable for cold heading?
For simple heads in low-carbon grades, yes. For larger reductions, boron and alloy grades, or parts with deep sockets, use spheroidized annealed (SAP) or SAP + PPD wire.
